The Nutrition Program offered by PICCOA offers Congregate and Home Delivered Meal programs. Both programs are designed to provide nutritious meals for seniors 60 and older.
Congregate (group) meals are available at both the Posen and Onaway centers Sunday through Thursday. A suggested donation of $3.00 per meal is requested. The cost for those under the age of 60 is $6.00.
Our Home-Delivered Meal program (also known as Meals-On-Wheels) provides hot meals Monday through Thursday and cold meals for Friday-Sunday. The program is geared toward seniors who are home-bound or otherwise not able to cook their own meals in the home. A $3.00 per meal donation is suggested by not required.
Who Qualifies for Home Delivered Meals?
People age 60 or older and their spouses, if they:
a. Have physical, emotional, or cognitive impairments, or have inadequate kitchen facilities, resulting in an inability to prepare nutritionally adequate meals.
b. Are unable to attend congregate meal sites.
c. Have no one to help with meal preparation.
Seniors must be home to receive meals when delivered.
No application or income eligibility test is required.
